Real odd problems with router driving me mad

Hello all

Well a weekend of jooy. To explain the problm I have a Linsys wireless router which has been working faultlessly until this weekend and now I am in a position where only one machine can connect at a time as this throws the rest out. No security on the router (temp measure to test connectivity) and all drivers are correct and up-to-date. There has been no problem at all, so rather that run through things that have happened, I just wondered if I am doing something really stupid. Machines are running XP Home, XP Professional (SP2) and Vista Ultimate (I know, I know, but it has had no problems for literally months).

Please help or I may throw the router out of the window

Regards

Mike

Are you sure the router is connected properly? As in the internet cable goes to the WAN port and computers to the LAN ports?

If it is a router+modem, maybe you were silly enough to put it into bridge mode?

make sure your router is still providing DHCP service; some how it could have been
turned off which would then allow multiple systems to have the same IP address,
which would then force off all but one system.

actually, you're lucky because more typically that condition creates an IP CONFLICT
and does not force off anyone!

yes it SHOULD; but what was 'the default'?

look and set it correct -- it takes 10 secs :)
