really low fps in counter strike source

I have had many troubles with trying to increase my fps.

i have a geforce 7800 gs

2.80 processor

2g of ram

so what should i do?

but i also have windows vista.

What fps are you getting?

Somethings that can slow fps: programs running in the background, old drivers, v-sync enabled, etc...

Try defraging your HDD. Running anti-virus scans and closing any background programs.

Use task Manager to check if there are any background tasks that are hogging up your cpu's resources.
