I recently swapped out a single layer DVD burner and placed in a dual layer. Since then the 64 bit unit I built will only boot to the boot menu and then restarts. This is an endless loop. I reformatted and reinstalled Windows xp and it still does this. Any clues? I really don't want to think it is my new dual layer.

I agree with RBS...also check for 64 bit drivers for that unit ; but good luck they are being written / released as slow as molasses...
