Reformating external hard drive

i got a maxtor onetouch III and it comes with a bunch of software files and drivers...i feel like wiping it clean but if i do that do i have to find the drivers all over again?

There are no drivers for this as it uses USB 2

You're not talking about Windows drivers I suppose. Just the external USB drive.
It should just install without asking for drivers

yep...reformatted the drive and it works just fine...

That'll fix any software fault !
