reformatted...trying to reinstall windows but...

i reformatted and now im trying to reinstall windows 98 onto my hard drive. It keeps stopping at "finding and installing plug and play devices" is there anyway to avoid this or anything i can do or try to get past it?

I'd remove any devices that are not necessary to start. Go with your HDD, Ram and vid card (unless video is onboard of course) and see if you can install.

Then after you have windows up and running, start adding your other devices one at a time to find the problem.

If you still get stuck with only the basic hardware, then maybe you have a problem with a major part, but let's take it one step at a time.

Also, you need to update your profile so we know what kind of computer you have.
