Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Click start/run and type services.msc into the run box and press the enter key.

When the window appears, maximise it. Double click on the following services(if there) and select stop if they are running. Set the startup type to disabled. Click apply/ok for each service you disable.

Microsoft DLL Control

Close the services window.

Open your task manager, if you can, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

sys32.exe
msconfig.exe
taskmgr.exe There may be two of this process running. If you end one and you taskmanager disappears, restart taskmanager and end the other one(if there).

Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft DLL Control] sys32.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft DLL Control] sys32.exe

O4 - Global Startup: msconfig.exe

O4 - Global Startup: taskmgr.exe

O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbaredits/menusearch.jhtml?p=ZSzed029YYUS_ZNxmk5 72YYUS

O16 - DPF: {49232000-16E4-426C-A231-62846947304B} - http://ipgweb.cce.hp.com/rdqcpc/downloads/sysinfo.cab

Fix all 018-protocol entries.

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or directories(if there).

C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP\TASKMGR.EXE

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SYS32.EXE

Run a full virus scan and delete whatever is found.

Reboot into normal mode and turn system restore back on.

Post a fresh HJT log into this thread.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I did everything you said. There was no msconfig or taskmgr.exe's and I was unable to run a virus scan. I have PC Cillin, but it would not run. Don't know how that affects things...my fresh updated log is posted.

Your HJT log is now clean.

If you have any further virus/spyware problems, please post in this thread.

Regards Howard :)
