Router Configuration

Jul 5, 2006
  1. I am attempting to set up servers for various games on my PC. The only problem is the my system connects to the internet through a (wireless) router and others (non-LAN) cannot connect to me. I have read many articles on opening router ports and configuration settings but it is all too confusing for me to figure out and i dont want to screw up my low-latency connection! Does anyone know how to make this work?

    Go here
and find your router and it has good instructions to set up port forwarding. They might even have the game you use listed.

Yeah you really got to get port forwarding sorted. I've run many servers and there is no other way I'm afraid that is as simple. Don't let complex terms and stuff put you off. You are literally telling the router which IP to send certain types of data.
