hello oh glorious peeps,

My Problem:

I can connect to the net, (hence this message)
but while i am connected, my router will just lose dsl connection and not try to re-establish!

my friend said that it could be over-heated, and one time i opened it :S and it was so hot i burned myself :(

could it be the fact it's really hot that is causing the disconnection?
or is it something else?

Hey,

The problem is probably the overheating of the DSL. You can try updating the firmware on your DSL router. You can also try leaving the router enclosure open so the heat can dissapte quickly.

I would personally recommend getting a new router.
 
Many broadband modems do indeed run very, very hot... Since this isn't unusual, I wouldn't blame on heat just yet.

You can try to update the firmware as it is about the only thing you can really do short of changing the unit out. Sometimes only your ISP can update your firmware, so you may want to talk to them first and see if a firmware update is available and if it may solve your issue.
