Rpg online games not responding

I recently installed zone alarm and many other programs that the security section had told me to install (avg ant-spyware, avg anti-virus, spyware blaster, etc.) my problem is that I play conquer and now it is taking forever to load and when it does I get the purple server status and can not change servers. If I do not log in on the server that comes up then after a min. I get a not responding and have to shut it down with task manager. any helpful advice is welcomed and very much appreciated ( my kids r having a CO melt down). Thank you.

Your connection problems are likely due to ZoneAlarm.

Firewall programs are designed to block incoming and outgoing traffic unless you specify otherwise. If you haven't already, then you'll need to 'allow' traffic coming from and going to your game.

I already did that and I still experience the problems.
