Safe Mode Windows 98

My nephew has done something to my ancient PC. It runs on Windows 98 when I start my PC it asks for Normal, Logged and Safe Mode. If I start with Normal or Logged Modes after starting windows screen goes blank. If I start with Safe Mode it will start fine but on the Screen four corners. It has written SAFE MODE in big fonts. It will not disappear.
I recon this happened due to not proper shut down. Please let me know any commands or any other ways to restore my windows into normal mode.

You say the screen goes blank?!?

Well, try this...When in safe mode, right click on the desktop, and go down to properties. When in properties, go to Settings, and click Advanced. Then go to Troubleshooting on the advanced menu, and lower your hardware acceleration to None.

Boot up and try this, hopefully, it will work

P.S If this doesnt work, then, you might want to start backing up as much as you can in safe mode, or something!

That is normal for SAFE mode;
You do have some problem if you cannot boot to the Normal Windows Desktop.
It is not normal for you to see these choices each time you boot ,you may want to visit your neighbourhood Guru.
