Sata drive converted to ide with addonics ADSAIDE

Hi,

I have purchased this little thing http://www.addonics.com/products/io/adsaide.asp

I have a Seagate ST380013AS. There is no problem with the hardware and bios but win XP is having problems accessing the disk both when it is primary disk for OS or a secondary one for just storage.

I tried using silicon drivers but they wont work since there is no SATA controller on my mobo. There is a little switch for slave/master selection.

I have a gigabyte P4 mobo. Dont know the exact model.
Does anybody have xperience with this kind of setup? I am starting to think that I am going against the all odds. But this ADSAIDE manual says it should do the trick.

Are you having problems while using that Adsaide?
If so, it may not be as compatible as the makers would like.
For the same price you could probably buy a SATA PCI-card. Won't be as fast as an onboard controller though.

yeah i had problems.
it is not compatible with my mobo. i tried it on another mobo. works really nice. disappointment anyway. thanks for the reply
