Sata Hdd Not Recognised By Win Xp

Please can anyone help?

I am trying to install Windows XP but it doesn't recognise my HDD during installation. The RAID option also says it won't work because no floppy drive is available.

However, the BIOS detects the HDD so I'm not sure why Windows doesn't.

I wiped the drive to start again, but no success.

If I don't use win xp and allow computer to continue, even though the HDD is empty, I receive a message saying 'NTLDR is missing'.

Any ideas?

What Motherboard is it?

If it's a Via /SiL etc controller you'll need to borrow a FDD from someone, make the RAID floppy {the files will be on the Motherboard CD, or you can download them from the manufacturer}, hit F6 when prompted etc etc.
