SB PCI 128 problems...........HELP..............

SB PCI 128, installed with all drivers, got sound but real scratchy.
1. intel p4 2.5
2. board- ecs p4vxasd2+
3. win xp.

mikey45e, does this mean engine 45?

You have onboard sound
AC97 Audio Codec: Compliant with AC97 2.2 specification
May or may not be a prob.

Try uninstalling any SB drivers/software (SBliveware), shut down
the computer, then remove SB card.

Reboot to bios and disable the onboard sound, save and exit.
Befor booting into windows, install the SBcard in the bottom
(farthest from video card) PCI slot. (or atleast not the slot just below it)

Then boot normal to windows, have the SB cdrom
in the cdrom, cancel auto detect and install from the cd.

This should fix it but chance it could somthing else.
