Search button not working

This is probably an easy question that someone can answer.

The search button in my start menu does not work. The one at the top in any folder does but not the one in the start menu. Whats wrong?

Try the system file checker http://www.networkclue.com/os/Windows/commands/sfc.aspx It might not work,but it`s quite a fun thing to do.

Ok. Its going right now. It looks like it is going to take a while. Windows hides so many good utilites like this.

I spent an hour watching the progress bar move and now the search button is still not working. I think I can fix this with something like a registry key. Anybody know how?

This might not work either,but it will only take 2 seconds to find out http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm It`s number 70 you want.Maybe.You have to save it to desktop,then click it.
