Securing my wireless internet

Ok I installed my wireless internet broadband using a Belkin modem/router on a new vista machine but I didn't set up any security to prevent others logging into my wireless signals.
Where do i go to provide some security to lock out any intruders from my wireless transmissions? If you know the answers please keep it simple.

First;

change the SSID from the default
change the channel to one end or the other, ie not #6
set encryption to WPA
add a pass phrase
(write down the resultant key)
change the login password
save settings and restart the router​

Second, you can go to MAC address filtering, but get the above running and then
