Set up my network-all is well-any tips from here on!

Alright. So I set up my little home network up without a hitch. Cleaned up the computers so that they didn't have any little nastys. I used a crossover cable to enable ICS sharing of a dsl connection. Just figured $7 cable beat a router! :haha: Now I am wondering what securtiy risks I have now gotten my self into. Any tips or programs anyone can recomend or sites perhaps?

Yep, crossover sure beats a router, if you leave the main pc on.

Get kerio firewall, avast antivirus, spybot, adaware, easy cleaner on both boxes. They're free.

Beats a router only in price.
You lose in security, speed and convenience.

Exactly. I was on the cheap route for months. Then I broke down and bought the $200 linksys router(it's $50 now). And never looked back.
