Sherwood RD-6108 DVD Sound

I have a Sherwood RD-6108 AV receiver that plays CD's no problem but does not play the Audio for DVD's. The Video is fine. I am using the Optical cable to connect the AV receiver to the DVD player. It did work when initially set up by the Hi-Fi specialist.

Any suggestions - it's driving me MAD !!!!

make sure the digital input is enabled on the reciever. Usually called bitstream via optical. Also some dvd players require you to enable the bitstream output as well.

My reciever has an analog/digital button that works on all sources.
