Should i be running windows 64-bit?

Hi

I built a new computer recently:

Abit ip35 Pro MB
Q6600
Crucial Ballistix 2GB
8800gtx


I just installed my old window xp 32-bit edition when it was built & it worked fine.
but can & should i be running 64-bit windows?

I think you could run 64 bit if you wanted to, but seeing as you're only using 2GB of RAM, it's not really worth getting a 64 bit OS.

32 bit OS's can only use 4GB of ram in total, which has to include the graphics memory and the page file if I remember correctly, so whilst you have 2GB, there's not much of an advantage for you

It would mean more hassle finding programs that will work as well
