Slaving Drive

Hi, does anyone know if a Maxtor 40GB drive can be slaved to a Seagate 40GB drive? And if so, how the jumpers are set. I've gone by the suggested settings on the drive but it doesn't work...

Some drives need to be set to have an ATA slave attached, others dont, some need to be set to CS (cable select) , but usually they just get set to one on the Master one on the Slave.

Some drives just wont take a slave, but then most PC's have more than 1 IDE channel, try putting it on a channel on its own...
