slow system startup

when i go to msconfig & then startup i have about 25 programs running on startup..it takes about 5 minutes to get to my desktop..can anyone give me any advice..thanks.
 
look here to speed up your system. Please, before you make a new thread, check out the guides and solved issues forum - it was made to prefent these kinds of questions.

Install Spybot Search & Destroy.
Use the Mode:Advanced menu to get to the Tools->System Startup.
You can uncheck items you would like to disable without uninstalling them :cool:

there are many items you can live without, such as ALL auto-update services
which can always be run manually :knock: Why hog the processor/memory for
something that is needed infrequently?
