Slowing of my pc

Hello all
I have a quetion regarding working of my pc, I like to record video dvd's, Now when I have that going I cant use my computer it slows down to almost halting.
I defragment and clean the valumes that speed it up but still is slow, my quetion is why is that happening and also what is the solution to make it faster

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. If you like to burn/make dvd compilations, etc. It's obvious your computer is extremely slow because this process requires a lot of CPU power. However, if you have something like tv through your pc and record that stuff, I'm not sure whether it should be slow. I guess it shouldn't, but that's not really my area of expertise... if no one answers in a while, you might need to specify the problem a bit. What are the specifications of your computer, what program are you using to record dvd's(or movies) was it always this slow, etc. However, I think you mean making dvd's (maybe your own) and that does take a lot of power.
