Ok not sure if this is in the right category but here goes...I was browsing Newegg for processors (I don't know why but that's my problem) When I came across a Dual Core Pentium D processor for $110...Nothing out of the ordinary there...but then I saw that the processor ran at 3.4Ghz and when I checked the recent Core 2 Duo series of chips, the closest one to 3.4ghz cost close to $1000...The FSB on the Core 2 Dui is 1066 and the Pentuim D's FSB is 800Mhz...The duo has a 32x32kb L1 cache while the pent. has 24x32kb
and the duo has an L2 of 4mb, while the Pent. has 2x2mb....my question is which one would offer greater performance?
Also the pentium D processor is called Presler..dunno if that helps
