Sound Problem

My operating System is Windows 98, my Sound Effect Manager is AC97, but my problem is I don't like the sound that comes out when I play music files on Winamp/WMP, please help. The sound is muffled a bit. Thank you.

Get a sound card. That's Onboard-Sound and it might not be able to sound better. I have that as well, but never activated, because I have a sound card.

I hope I was right, because I don't have any idea how AC'97 sounds or is supposed to sound. That's why I said might. But you are happy.
