Soundcard

I have a 5.1 CMI8738/C3DX PCI Sound Card in my computer. A Labtec Arena 685 5.1 Speaker System is connected to the sound card. Am I receiving digital or analog sound output with this soundcard? What hardware do I need if I want to have digital sound output? Please help.

Does your card have digital out? If so are you using the digital out to your speakers?

Analog. Get a better sound card that has digital in the descriptive name... such as Creative Labs, Ensoniq, and so-on.
