I am going to build a new PC primarily for gaming at the end of the year/start of next year. I heard that having an actual soundcard will boost game performance because the CPU doesnt have to handle the audio. In that case if I do get a Soundcard do I have to disable the onboard sound on the Mobo, or do I just buy a Mobo that doesnt have onboard audio??

Yes, disable the onboard sound if you use a separate sound card. Normally this is done in bios. You should also uninstall your old onboard sound drivers.

I`ve not come across a mobo that doesn`t have onboard sound.

Regards Howard :)
