OK i bought some new speakers Logitech z-5500. It has a digital input, optical and coax. I have a audigy 2 zs with a 1/8 digital out. I have done some research and i want somebody to confirm. I can use a regular coax cable using this adapter

to hook up my speakers using the digital output from my computer. Thanks in advanced (reason im asking is because i just ordered my speakers so i actually havent done anything)

I already know you have to set the sound card on digital output, and set the speakers to digital input by the way.

thanks in advance

First question would be "why"? Why coax instead of just a long audio cable?

Otherwise I would say "why not"? If they make such an adapter, I suppose it should work! The digital signal is just a serial comm, and the adapter in the pic has a mono-jack. Again, shouldn't hurt anything. As long as electricity has a path, it'll do its job. But I haven't done it or seen it, so this is my dangerously educated guess, that it should have no problem at all. Any seconds on that?
