Starting applications from other partitions

Hi folks

I have a Win98/XP partitioned notebook. Both FAT formatted so that the XP system can 'see' the Win98 files. Would I be able to make some path / environment settings to enable the programs in the Win98 to run from within an XP environment? If so, how?

Incidentally, I do have AutoCAD LT running in this way but I'm not sure what I did with the shortcut to allow this to happen.

TIA
Rob

I would think that, for most programs, windows would need the necessary registry settings to run an app. That is to say that you would need to install the application in the environment you wish to run them in.

Some apps are not limited in that they don't register dlls during install, and don't make registry setting changes. These are typically single exe programs that are not actually installed.
