If you’re still in search of that special gift for the gamer in your life (or maybe you’ve been waiting patiently for the “big sale” to splurge on yourself), you’ll happy to learn that Valve’s annual Steam Winter Sale is now in full effect.

This season’s sale is par for the course for Steam veterans with discounts on a smattering of games from the get-go. Some quick highlights include:

In addition to the sale, gamers are invited to cast their votes for the 2016 Steam Awards over the coming days. Finalists up for nomination today in the category of “Villain Most in Need of a Hug” are Portal 2, Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4 and Dead by Daylight. A complete list of finalists and when you can vote in each category can be found on the Steam Awards landing page.

The Steam Winter Sale runs through 12pm CST on January 2, 2017. What games do you plan on picking up during the sale? Let us know in the comments section below!

Terraria for $5.99 is a pretty good deal considering how well put together it is and how much fun it is. after nearly 300 hours playing, I'm in a position to say it's an okay game.

Pay attention game developers, make a quality title like GTAV and over a year later you can still get away with charging more than new subpar triple-A titles.
It is rather amazing that 18 months after release the lowest US prices that have been recorded is $24, $29.98 on Steam.

But from what I hear GTA V Online is still very popular so $30 is not that bad of a deal. The Single Player campaign was pretty good even for $60.

Well this sucks...valve has tons of money and yet they never do anything about the issues that come when sales begin.

Totally down in the uk and most of europe judging by the outage map I just looked at...
I smell a DDOS attack... Again!

They also release regular updates and free content. But I do agree.

Offers are not brilliant, but I think after Black Friday and all the other recent sales, everyone is a bit sales out...
