Strange Boot Problem HELP NEEDED!!!!

ok every time i start my computer it will take 5 min to detect drives

then it displays that it cant detect my hard drives but it does detect my cdrom. if i wait for like 5 more min it go and say DISKBOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

NOW IF I RESTART USING THE POWER BUTTON SAME THING WILL HAPEN BUT IF I PRESS CTRL ALT DELETE SAME THING HAPPENS ACCEPT THIS TIME IT DETECTS ONE OF THE DRIVE (MASTER) AND THEN NOTHING HAPPENS STAYS LIKE THAT FOR LONG :zzz: . NOW IF I PRESS CTRL ALT DELETE IT WILL RESTART AND GO BACK TO NORMAL IT WIL DETECT ALL MY DRIVES. AND GO TO WINDOWS EVERYTHING NORMAL

THAT IS THE PROBLEM
I HAVE TWO HDS WESTREN DIGITAL 40 GB (MASTER) AND MAXTOR 30GB(SLAVE)

i would like to know if it is virus or somthing like that :hotbounce

forgot to mention starting two weeks ago my come started to make noise

investigated and found that it was hd(master) westren digital enhanced hard drive that wat it says on drive it self noise goes like this eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee contant buzzing like that

If you have not figured it out by now....
Your HD is on the blink. Make backups immediately onto the good Maxtor.
Then go to the Storage and Network Forum, D/L and run the Western Digital test-utility.
Report back with the results.

Although your tests past ,the fact that your HDD is making that noise means that it is going to fail completely in the near future.Those tests generally represent the condition of the surfaces of the disks inside.The fact that you can still get your system going means the disk surface is functional.It sounds as though the motor/bearing etc. /hardware are failing. As Real.. said , get your system backed up ASAP .Then buy a new HDD, they are quite cheap.Do clean load of Win and recover your data .
Also I noticed in your running systems ,Quicktime and messenger are running .It is a good idea to stop those App... from starting on their own .They are not neceessary all the time and they just add to bootime + unnecessary cpu/ram usage.Best to start and stop them manually,when you actually use them .They can also represent a security weakness to your system .

Ask your Dad if he can read this whole thread,perhaps he will believe we are telling you the truth.No matter what ,make sure you backup everything that is important.
HDD are so cheap that to pay an expert who may or may not be able to fix it ,just is not worth the exercise.
