Hi,

Is there any way to suppress the windows welcome sound when you login? I visit the local library a lot. And in my laptop, the mute button doesn't work unless you are logged in. Sometimes when I turn on the laptop when I am at the library, I will realize that I was listening to music at home and the volume will probably be at the loudest.

Any way to turn this off? Is it playing from a wav file? Can we delete the file if it is?

Thanks.

It is a wav file from the Media folder under Windows. Go to Control Panel and find Sounds and Audio Devices. Open it and click on the Sounds tab. In the Program Events box, find the Start Windows sound and change it to None (at the top of the drop down menu).
