"SYSTEM" alway at 100% cpu usage

  1. hi,
    My other PC suddenly started working extremely slowly, so I used CTRL+ALT+DEL and looked at what was going on there. All processes seemed ok, except the SYSTEM one which was 100% and wouldn't lower.

    Any idea's?

    This PC is running Mcaffey.

    look at the processes list and click on the cpu column - click again to move the process using all the resources to the top and then tell us what you see.

    have you installed any new software since this started happening? you could have a software conflict that is making this process use up all the cpu

    is that one process is constantly at 100% then there's definitely something wrnog

    you could try booting into safe mode and see what it's like then, then you could eliminate processes that could case the conflict

    I have read this many,many times and find it hard to believe.
    Please post a snapshot.At 100 % you'd be shutdown long before that.
    No one did so be the first,I have to see this.
    After that we'll work on memory management.
