I have created an empty file with an extension of .exe with notepad that i think is a system file. But when i try to delete it, it said "It is being used by another user or program." Anyone can help me to solve it?

Hi.

.exe just means executable.Windows will try to run it,if you click on it.

If you just opened notepad then saved it with a .exe extension, you

should be able to delete it.If it really is a system file you shouldn`t be

be deleting it.What is the name of this file ?

Thanks. The name is a.exe. There are tabs such as screen, misc, general, program, font, compatibility and memory in its properties. It's an application file that locate in my desktop with size 0 byte. The attribute is "Archive".

Select the file and wait a few seconds before trying to delete it - your antivirus is probably trying to scan it and Windows won't delete a file that is open. Another option would be to delete it from the command line or Safe Mode.

There are also special programs for deleting locked files - see the sticky on top of the Misc software section.
