I'm running windows xp sp2 on an AMD64 3400+ (overclocked to 2.4ghz), 1GB pc 3200 ram, xfx geforce 6600GT, MSI K8T Neo2 mobo, 250gb WD 7200 HD. When I reboot, it takes a matter of seconds for windows to load. However, once I'm on my desktop half of my programs load in the tray (i.e. my virus scanner, video card software, printer software, etc). Then the system hangs. During this time I can browse through files, but if I try to run a program nothing happens. After about 45 seconds - 1 minute worth of this hangup, everything else loads in an instant. If I were to click a program to open it during the hangup, it also opens with all the other programs in my startup. Any suggestions???

take note of which program is causing the hangup when loading and stop it from starting up in the system tray. depending on what program it is then it may need to be uninstalled and reinstalled to solve the problem.
