System Idle Process

Why does it take 99% of CPU usage?
Is there a way to see what programs are connected to it thus I can disable them?

(And it is not a virus. I know).

What type of PC are you running there?
Any Norton Products loaded?

I think the system idle process is just a thing, not a real process, just put in Task Manager to even out the percentages; if other processes are only using 32% of the CPU, collectively, then the system idle process will be at 68%. If only 1% of the CPU is being used, the system idle process will be at 99%. nothing to worry about.
