System Live Protect

Hello guys.
Yesterday, i found in my toolbar a red icon with a white x, and says my PC is infected by spyware and I have to download System Live Protect
(exact message = Would you like to update your security software and download System Live Protect?).
I cannot find how to get rid of this.
I am using Windows XP SP2, with norton Internet Security 2006 on it, updated. Did a full system scan, but nothing was found. I did some search in the internet, others have such a problem too but couldn't find a solution. Aslo someone from this (wolf... i think) had a similar problem with windows vista, tried two ways mentioned but nothing happened.
This causes my Internet Explorer (6) to crash from time to time, and i need my PC for work too.
Can you help me guys?

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.

Is this the only way? Cause it seems too complicated for me, while in another thread (https://www.techspot.com/vb/topic78569.html) I found that a guy resolved it without downloading all the tools mentioned.
Here is also my hijackthis log file, if this helps (I haven't resolved this yet)

Your system is riddled with malware. Follow the instructions I gave you in my post above and post the requested logfiles. If you don`t want to follow the instructions, I suggest you reformat the system.

Guys, thanks for all the help, but fortunately it is gone....
today i opened my pc and it is nowhere...
Probabaly cause my antivirus made an update last night (i had updated it before alone, but nothing had happened, a new update).
Thanks for all the help,
regards,
nikitas

I very much doubt that your Antivirus is capable of cleaning all the infections you have from your system. In fact, I`d put money on it.

Here`s a list of some of the infections from your HJT log, the chances are your system also has more infections that are not shown in the log.

RECERV or R3C.B TROJANS!
adware MySearch
Troj/Dloadr-AEL downloader Trojan.
Trojan.Zlob.Media-Codec
RXToolbar

I advise you to follow the instructions and post the requested logfiles.

Regards Howard :)
