System Restore

Have tried 5 times to select a date for system restore in XP but each time get message that my PC cannot be restored to that date. Have tried several months ago and then just days ago with same results. What am I missing here?

The only restore dates that can be used are the ones that are in BOLD. if you have tried these and are getting that message then I would say that your system restore file is corrupted.

Thank you for your response and yes I do select only the bold date numbers for restore. Does this then mean I must reinstall Windows?

No, just switch it OFF to delete all current restore-points, then switch back ON again, where XP will make a fresh restore-point.
