system32/driver/nvata.sys

Hi,

I was trying to install a new lan card on my system for my broadband. But then something went wrong with the installation but now when i try to boot the system i the error stating that system32/driver/nvata.sys is corrupt and a repair would work.

Consequently I had another copy of XP running on my system, from where I copied the above mentioned file to the required location in the windows folder of my corrupted XP instance.

But still it hasnt worked out. I have some really critical information especially located in the My documents folder of that XP which I somehow need to retreive.

Any help/advice/suggestion will be more than welcome.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi, i'm not sure if you already got a fix or not, but one thing you can do to at lease retreive your data is to connect your hard drive as a slave to another working computer and then backup your data that way. Let me know if that help or not.
