Task manager does not work!?!?!

When I attempt to pull up my task manager with ctrl+alt+del...all I get is an error message that says "Task manager has been disabled by your administrator". I find that hard to believe since I am the only administrator on my PC. Someone please help..I have tried everything i know including spyware scans, virus scans and manual location...It just seems like it is not there..please help, Thanks.

if you are a computer administrator and cannot open task manager, you're in trouble. try ctrl + shift+ esc. what protective software do you have, what internet browser do you use, what OS and service pack are you running?

task manager does not work!!!

I tried the key combo crtl+shift+esc and it did not work. I have Defender pro 2005, IE6, Windows XP pro and no service pack but i use auto-update.

auto- update? press [start key] + [pause]. this brings up the system properties windows. what says the "general" tab?

and you have NO service pack installed? alright, download hijackthis (search google), run a scan, save a logfile, and post it here as per these instructions > https://www.techspot.com/vb/topic19133.html
