I just happened across your post and glanced at your HJT log. I'm not an "HJT analyst" and don't think this is related to your Task Manager problem but i noticed

• you're not running the latest Java JRE (v1.6.0_03)
• Looks like you are only running v1.5.0_12 (fyi.. you can run multiple java versions simultaneously)
• All of this is odd because you do have jusched.exe running which is the process which checks for Java updates

Is your firewall blocking jusched.exe? Do you know if you have an app which requires keeping v1.5.0_12?
