The Amazon Day delivery option is now available for all US Prime members

  1. Amazon Day first appeared as an invite-only service back in November and has now been rolled out to all Prime members. It will no doubt be welcomed by prolific shoppers, who would prefer to receive all their weekly purchases in one go and on a day they’re off work.

    Not only can Amazon Day help prevent package theft (you could also try using a glitter bomb for this), but it’s also friendlier to the environment. Combining several deliveries into one cuts down on the number of required boxes, which is obviously a good thing. The option is part of Amazon’s Shipment Zero initiative—a vision to make half of all the company’s shipments carbon neutral by 2030.

    “Amazon Day adds another level of convenience to the many shipping benefits Prime members already enjoy. Prime members can now choose to get their orders delivered together in fewer boxes whenever possible on the day that works best for them,” said Maria Renz, Vice President, Delivery Experience at Amazon.

    Whichever day someone chooses as their Amazon Day will stay the same unless they change it at the checkout. Selecting the new option doesn’t mean you can’t also pick other delivery services for certain items; one-day, two-day, same-day, and two-hour shipping can still be selected, where available.

    The problem is they are still at the mercy of UPS, FedEx and the USPS. I see a lot more credits in Amazon's future. I finally had to call them on a few deliveries arriving later than the 2 day prime guarantee and get credit.

    This happens to me all the time, never bother to complain and receive credit tho. What kind of credit are you getting

    First I double checked to make sure it was a prime item and guaranteed 2 day service. It wasn't so much that one item being late as it was happening more and more. Not often but enough to get my attention. I finally went on their chat and complained. They double checked the item to make sure it was a 2 day item then gave me a $10 credit towards my next purchase. That was a couple weeks ago and haven't placed another order yet.

    Ditto what fps4ever said. I have the same issue here. Between a third and a half of my packages are at least a day late (that's a minimum). Nice idea, especially in areas where there are lots of porch thieves, but not much use unless the shippers can actually hit a delivery date.
