Yay, installed my 7600GT (Waiting for affordable DX10), and I just finished my series of benchmarks, and was very satisfied!

It was, guess i should update my sig :/, I finally got it to run at 333FSB on my ECS board, I had to change something, and guess what! It wouldnt POST, I am sick of this ECS board.

Very, very nice scores F1n3st for a 7600, Hope my 7900 SLI will do as good as that ( mine will be better but still yours is very good for your system )

Yeah I would too but the 8800s are too exspensive now for me to buy, I'll wait till they are like the price of a 7900 then i'll buy :)

HERE WE HAVE IT! The Good Ol' Athlon64 vs. Conroe and X850XT vs. 7600GT. Finally, PROOF that Athlon64s can compete with Conroes and that the X850XT IS INDEED FASTER than the 7600GT.

Not only do you have a Conroe (which is supposed to like totally destroy the Athlon64s), but you have TWICE as much ram, that is even FASTER (Cas 4 vs my Cas 5). And, finally, to all NVidia fan boys - the 7600GT is NOT faster than the X850XT.

Oh, and YES, this is ALL DEFAULT. Install, double-click, "Benchmark".

:) Ok I'm done. Nice system either way!

Haha, just got 27964 3D marks. Sorry, no picture, but it was late in the night and I didn't have time. I had my gfx card overclocked some more.

I love to hear that a X850 XT PE is faster than a 7600GT :)

I would really hope so; the X850 XT PE is more expensive (at least on newegg last time I checked). I almost bought one, but ended up with my 7900GS KO...

Damnit, I feel left out of this 3dMark2001 comparison... :hotouch: :knock: I'm CPU limited at 21000.... I get 18900 in 3dMark03 though :p I cant wait till I get my Opteron 165... I'll overclock the **** out of it and then I wont be CPU limited anymore :p

You don't need an X850XT PE. The PE is nothing more than an X850XT with a BIOS that has the stock speeds at 540/590 instead of 520/540.

Of course, it's not competition for the 7900GS either way, but for 120$ it's an awesome card.

Lol, Hate to steal your thunder (really I do cuz I have an A64 too) but... look how much you had to overclock your CPU and he didn't overclock his at all lol.

Actually, it is not surprising at all that a Radeon x850XT is better than a GeForce 7600GT. It always has been.

The Radeon x850XT is a high end card whereas the GeForce 7600GT is a mid-range card. The Radeon x850 is the highest model in the Radeon-X series (they only went up to 850). But the GeForce 7600 is only a middle-class variation of the GeForce-7 series (which goes up to 7950). Therefore comparing an x850XT with a 7600GT is not a fair battle.
This is just a fact, I am not biased in favor of nVidia. In fact I have no preference between the two GPU giants.

Yea, there is almost a Ghz differance lol. Im gonna run my benchies on X700PRO to see how that does in 01 lol. And BTW your RAM is running at DDR2-800 Speeds and mine is running at DDR2-667 (At Cas-5 NOT 4) And how does it do in 06 :p

17911 I got with a X700PRO @ Stock lol. I am gonna put my 7600 back in, OC my C2D to 2330Mhz and put my RAM as Cas-4 DDR2-800 then we'll see who wins :) Actually i wont right now but I may lol.

I know, I went through all of the specs when I was looking at cards :) .

@MetalX & F1N3ST: Yes, I OCed my CPU. But then again, the E6300 matches FX-62 performance when overclocked, so surely it would be my stock X2 3800+ - thus, to compensate, I OCed =).

@Grafficks: Yes, ofcourse. That's what I'm saying - most people would say that a 7600GT is faster than a X850XT, although it is not. I guess people prefer NVidia over ATI - I don't.

@F1N3ST: Actually, DDR2 720. Couldn't get it higher without having my CPU lower. Pretty close.

Once 6000+ comes out I'm switching to that (stock 3.0GHz) and going to start OCing. Imagine a 4.0GHz dual core Athlon... I don't play games at all their max anyways, so my trusty X850XT will stay until something better comes out at a low price. I'll also probably change my ram to something faster and bigger. Prices will probably be lower later on =/

I'll do that too. I'm waiting a good, low-priced DX10 card. Hmmm, a 8600GT :) :) :)

I'm probably gonna have DX9 for a long time... I'll probably end up SLI-ing up another 7950GT... unless at the time I would be able to do that I can get a DX10 card that would be comparable to SLI 7950GTs at around the same price of a single 7950GT...

Did I mention that I hate all of your snazzy video cards and your mega mega speeds? Back in my day we had the ORIGINAL ATI Radeon 64MB! In fact it's still sitting around in my closet somewhere. :grinthumb

Sweet results, though, wish I could get this 7950 GT up to those standards, but I'm scared of overclocking.

Really? I haven't done any benchmarking on it yet, but it doesn't seem to perform that well. Maybe close, but not that well.....hmm, maybe I'll drag out the benchmarks!

Or, more like a X1950XTX.

You know, just the way the X850XT PE is cheaper than the 7600GT and yet faster? ;)

I don't need new tech. Just the way I run all current games on high/max with older tech like the X800 series, I'll do the same with the X1900 series.
