The colors are fading away

I tried this in the video section but i got no response so i'll try here

I don't know if this is the right place, so if not flame me away but i'll ask anyway

I've had this comp for less than 2 years, and the screen came with it, but just recently the colors on the left side of the screen, for like 1 1/2 in., faded away, and now all the colors in that part look like a cr**** brown, and it's really getting on my nerves... so is it something that i need to adjust or is it already time to get a new one, which doesnt sound so good to me since lets face it, christmas was less than 2 weeks ago!!!


oh by the way, it all happened instantly, not like over a certain period of time

I've never heard of one turning brown, but have you recently put some speakers close to that side of the monitor? The magnets in them can cause some serious damage to TV's and monitors. That is the only thing I can think of at the moment, except for trying to borrow a friends monitor and see if it still happens, in which case it might be your video card.
