This is driving me mad!!

can anyone tell me why video card info window tells me Bus: PCIE x4 rather than x16??
my video card is XFX 7800GTX motherboard is MSI K8 Diamond CPU AMD64 x2 3800+ i installed all the latest driver and tried everything i could but none of them helped!
really need help on this one! im going crazy!
