tried everything but still not working...

Hi,
My broswers do not connect to the net while other progs(outlook, messenger..) can have access. Did anyone experience that before ?
I am trying to solve the problem for 2 hours now but still no result.

About 700,000,000 at the last count.No solution so far.

Here are some ideas that have failed in the past -

deleting all cookies and temp files.

running spyware scans in safe mode.

If you are using XP(SP2) reset the winsock catalogue. Click Start, then Run and type CMD and then click OK. Type netsh winsock reset into the DOS window that appears.

The sollutions you proposed did not work for me, sorry for that...I think i will place a new copy of xp...so bad but i do not see any other solution

Have you tried safe mode with networking ?
