When I go into internet explorer a windows appears with:

VIRUS DETECTED
c:\DOCUME~1\user\config~1\temp\se.dll
trojan horse startpage.19.j

I am unable to clear so please i need yr help to elimante it.
The pc is Pentium IV 256Mb with windows XP.

Boot in safe mode and delete all contents from that directory.
If you can't, use DrDelete or Killbox, both freely available on the web.

You may have other infections though. Try TrendMicro
