Trouble with AGP settings

Hi, People,

Just upgraded my pc to a athlon 64 3000+, so i got a newer graphic card Radeon 9550 256mb, my motherboard supports 8 times AGP speed, and ive set my bios as follows:

AGP OVERCLOCK 66MHZ
AGP APERTURE SIZE 128MB
AGP 3.0 SPEED 4*8*
AGP 2.0 SPEED SET TO AUTO ( CANNOT ADJUST THIS FOR SOME REASON)

Trouble is when i go in to ATI Smartgart there is a slider that adjusts the agp setting from off-4-8, i set the slider to 8 turn the agp write speed on and agp read on. It then asks to re-boot to see if settings are ok but each time i turn it back on it's been reset back to off. My Pc write and Pc read settings stay on o.k.

Please has anyone got a suggetion as to what the cause could be, ive got latest driver for the card, tried un-loading re loading driver but no effect?

Your motherboard might only be able to support up to 4x. Try setting it to 4x and see what happens. Also, go into ur BIOS (most systems F2 for Dell startup) and see what your AGP settings are at.
