U3 Cruzer SanDIsk read only message

I am not able to copy files to my new drive, because it says it's read-only, but I can't find anywhere to correct that, except a mention on an "uninstall" option.

Am I missing something here? Thanks, JP

You are not trying to write to the "CD-ROM" part of your U3 drive, are you?

Like my writeable "D" CD drive vs a non-writeable one? No, I don't think so...

Y'see, my "old" jump drive doesn't have all these control panels, etc, but with it, I just take a Word or Excel file, or a picture maybe, and either "save as" or "send to", choose (on the drop down) "removeable USB...", and the little light in the drive blinks and there ya go!

If I try that with this new one, it says it can't do it because it's a read-only drive, etc. Does that help? JP

U3 drives present themselves as two devices. One of them appears as a read-only CD drive that contains all the bull**** programs and the other is the writeable USB stick part.
