Hi all,
Ive only got a 10gb hard disk and i want to upgrade. If i buy another bigger one and install it along side the other can I have it appear as only one drive on the PC. eg. if i buy a 40gb hard disk, install it. it only appears as one drive (C) with 50gb space?

If you are using a proper operating system (non-Windows), then yes. Otherwise, no.

To make this work, you would have to install a RAID controller and implement STRIPING (raid-0).
Without it, you would see two HD volumes.

Or just use LVM or CCD or any of the other disk management systems available for Unix-like OS. No fancy controllers needed.
