unable to delete files

I downloaded some videos which i have seen and no longer wish to have stored, but everytime i try to delete them, windows explorer freezes for about 5 minutes or so, when is back to normal the files are still there. I tried using the incinerator to get rid of them but I still get the same results. Could anybody please help me?

What did you download and where are the files stored?

You can try deleting them in safe mode.
Or try quitting any program that might be accessing them, like WMP. If it is still "trying to use it" then you won't be able to delete it.

It was a couple of CSI episodes they are stored in My Documents, under My Videos
