Hi!
I have broadband internet connection on my pc. The problem is that whenever i turn it on, the data transfer (i.e. data sent and received) starts automatically even when i haven't opened any site or anything else. So there is something in the background that is connecting to the net as soon as i turn it on but i m not able to find out what is it....
Can anybody help me to find out that?

If you have a decent software firewall, then it has the ability to show you all existing network connections. As an alternative, try the TCPView utility from www.sysinternals.com

A certain amount of that is normal in my experience.Probably just the dreaded Generic Host Process for Win32 Services.

Also, some legit programs including AV check for updates when the connection opens, unless you go into their preferences, and uncheck the relevant option.
